appointed the CEC and four election commissioners on Monday, Begum Kabita
Khanam, a former district and sessions judge made history becoming the first
ever female selected for the job.
A country where the prime
minister, opposition leader, speaker of the parliament are female, appointing a
woman election commissioner was demanded by most of the political parties
during EC talks with the president.
