H.E. Mr. Lee Yun-young, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Bangladesh hosted the festival. Mr. Ambassador said Korean film is vibrant and live so it is popular around the world, he also said that, through the success of these events, two countries could become much closer by the power of culture, further boosting our bilateral friendship, also this festival will provide a good opportunity for Bangladesh people to taste and enjoy the charm of Korean film.
Mr. Faizul Latif Chowdhury, Director General of Bangladesh National Museum attended the opening ceremony as chief guest and announced the opening of Korean Film Festival 2014 with the movie Officer of the Year. Mr. Latif said Korea is now having its golden age in film industry but it also passed the lean period. For example Bangladesh is passing its lean period for last 3o years. He said Korean government has rule that in a year any Korean film have to be screened in any channel and theatre for 73 days which promoting Korean film.
