The New York Mets have named Terry Collins, a former Astros
and Angels manager, as the team's new manager going into the
2011 season.
Collins, who is now the team's minor league field
coordinator, takes over a team that is struggling to regain
momentum after a 2010 season that ended with them in fourth
place in the National League east, with a 79-83 record.
Collins replaces Jerry Manuel, who was fired after the 2010
season ended.
